Shipping Container Bars That Set The Bar High
Like any good idea, the HONOMOBAR was drafted on a napkin over a few daytime pints. And while the business model around it has taken a variety of turns, the core of it remains the same - a recycled shipping container turned into a portable party.
It was actually conceived in the middle of a typical Edmonton winter. Each season we all tend to go through the same unfortunate cycle - happiness and excitement for the first snowfall, the buzz of Christmas and New Years ski trips, then a frozen anger as we count the days until Spring. That needed to change, because the weather won't. Stocking it with the help of a couple of our favourite local breweries and dragging the bar to the top of Fortress Mountain in -25°C to throw a party seemed the perfect way to break that cycle. We were right - it was cold, and it was absolutely epic.
