PERMIT COORDINATOR/EXPEDITER

In modular construction, every project’s success happens well in advance of physically constructing any modules and our Permit Coordinator/Expeditor plays a key role in executing our overall project experience. We are seeking a Permit Coordinator/Expeditor to support projects focused California.

The Permit Coordinator/Expediter is responsible for preparing building permit submittal packages, as well as coordinating the efficient submittal, expediting, approval, and retrieval from local jurisdictions. This position acts as a liaison between Honomobo’s Project Managers, Design Team, local jurisdiction and our customer, working together to resolve any redline corrections and achieve permit issuance.

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring that all processes are being followed for each projects specific jurisdiction.

  • Leading clients through an exceptional experience when navigating their building permit application process for their Honomobo project.

  • Ensuring projects permit applications are submitted in an accurate and timely manner according to approved plans, specifications and applicable building codes

  • Coordinating with Third Party plan approval agencies for plan reviews and Energy Code compliance.

  • Ability to prepare written plan review correspondence and update information into company and third party consultants software programs.

  • Developing and maintaining permit tracking schedules in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates

  • Providing clear direction to team members to ensure project targets are achieved

  • Facilitating project meetings with multiple stakeholders, anticipating stakeholder needs, and proactively identifying solutions to support ongoing projects

  • Supporting and maintaining healthy, happy work environments and corporate culture

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in reviewing building plans and submitting building permit application packages

  • Completion of a three year Post Secondary Diploma in Civil or Architectural

  • Technology is an asset, along with three (3) years relevant experience.

  • Thorough knowledge of building construction systems, constructibility, materials, and industry associated standards.

  • Solid understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Solid organizational, analytical, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills.

Organizational Relationship

This position, Permit Coordinator/Expediter works with the Project Management and Design Teams and reports directly to the COO.

The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience, includes vacation time, benefits and a flexible work environment. We are based in Edmonton and our team works from both our Head Office (Edmonton – Whyte Ave) and factory (Nisku). Work from home options are available to qualified candidates.

PROJECT MANAGER

They are key to successfully managing all aspects of the journey from concept through final walk through with our incredible customers. We are seeking Project Managers to execute projects in Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously and ensuring that all construction projects meet profitability goals and meet or exceed client expectations, this includes travel to our work sites in Canada and the United States

  • Leading clients through an exceptional experience when building their Honomobo project

  • Ensuring projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes while maintaining high quality standards

  • Preparing detailed construction cost estimates and change orders

  • Developing and maintaining construction schedules in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates

  • Providing clear direction to team members to ensure project targets are achieved

  • Facilitating project meetings with multiple stakeholders, anticipating stakeholder needs, and proactively identifying solutions to support ongoing projects

  • Leading project teams to identify and manage opportunities and risks to achieve the best possible results for scope, quality, schedule and financial targets

  • Maintaining, tracking, and reporting financial aspects of projects including subcontractors, materials, coding, forecasts and billings

  • Managing the procurement process including subcontractor, trade, supplier negotiations and awards as required

  • Supporting and maintaining healthy, happy work environments and corporate culture

Qualifications

  • History of managing all phases of a construction project from concept to completion

  • Minimum of 3-5 years managing projects in the residential and/or commercial construction industry, modular experience an asset.

  • Thorough knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.

  • Solid understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Solid organizational, analytical, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills.

  • Ability to travel to project locations in the United States.

QA/QC MANAGER

They are key to successfully managing all aspects of the journey from concept through final walk through with our incredible customers. We are seeking a QA/QC Manager to work in our Nisku, AB factory to support the production of all projects for Canada and the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspection on various construction functions to ensure compliance with established Quality Management System.

  • Develop good working relationships with managers, supervisors, team leads, production team members to help foster a positive team environment.

  • Coordinate Third Party Inspection Agency inspections in concert with the production schedule.

  • Manage and grow the Quality Management System in developing policies, procedures, and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, components, and operations.

  • Execute daily inspections of the work in progress on the factory floor according to Quality Management System and maintain very accurate records of the inspections.

  • Track and resolve quality issues and works with peers to support vendor evaluation programs.

  • Responsible for special projects as assigned.

  • Verify the conformance of products to specifications and determine the causes of deficiencies.

  • Submit non-conformance reports to the Manufacturing and Design Teams and assist in developing corrective actions, processes/policies to prevent recurrence of deficiencies.

Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in similar role.

  • Experience working with residential construction

  • Experience in factory manufacturing environment

  • Strong attention to detail is required. Must be organized and thorough.

  • Ability to detect issues and work collaboratively to solve conflicts.

  • Knowledge of production policies, procedures, and safety measures.

  • Team player with strong and clear communication abilities.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings (structural, Mech, Elec, Plumbing)

  • Minimum of 3-5 years managing projects in the residential construction industry, modular experience an asset.

  • Thorough knowledge of building construction systems, constructability, materials, and industry associated standards.

  • Solid understanding of the relationship between drawings and specifications.

  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

  • Solid organizational, analytical, problem solving, decision making, and communication skills.

Organizational Relationship

This position, QA/QC Manager works directly with the Manufacturing team in the factory and is the liaison for the Design Team and reports directly to the COO.

The salary range for this position is commensurate with experience, includes vacation time, benefits and a flexible work environment. We are based in Edmonton and our team works from both our Head Office (Edmonton – Whyte Ave) and factory (Nisku). This position will be based directly in the Nisku manufacturing facility.
